Mediation Training for Personal or Organizational Growthin Oklahoma City and Tulsa
All courses are offered in our Tulsa or Oklahoma City
offices. For groups of 20 or more on-site training can be made available at
your location anywhere within the United States.
The Mediation Institute has experience in teaching the following courses and
is prepared to offer them upon request:
1) Leadership Development Training-
This is a highly interactive training program for project leaders,
supervisors, managers, committee chairs and others in group leadership roles.
The course provides practical methods and skills for effective work and team
management in a constantly changing environment. The course involves 24
hours of classroom time including lecture, group discussion and role-playing.
2) Managing Conflict Training- This one day course equips
participants with a variety of skills to be used when dealing with routine
conflicts that typically arise in a workplace setting. These skills focus on
exploring the root causes of conflict, dealing with feelings and emotions,
creative problem-solving, exploring underlying interests, active listening
and communications skills. This course can be done over a single day or a
3-day intensive program.
3) Workplace Behavior Training- This course seeks to equip
participants with skills for functioning as part of an effective team in a
workplace setting. This one day course will provide a basic problem-solving
process and skills for effective communication. This is a one day program.
4) Project Management Training- Skills covered in this course include
action planning, interpreting and representing agency goals and policies,
creating and maintaining a motivating and productive work environment,
orienting and training new employees; appraising and coaching for improved jo
b performance, working productively with superiors, peers and subordinates
and using time effectively.
This is a 24 hour course.
5) Negotiation Skills-Participants in this one day course will gain
an
understanding of effective negotiation and how to use it effectively. The
course will make participants more effective communicators and negotiators.
The course will also cover a means of analyzing the negotiation setting and
developing strategies for responding effectively. The course is lively and
highly participatory and will include lecture, group discussion and simulated
negotiation exercises.
6) Facilitation Skills- This course provides group leaders with basic
skills needed to elicit participation and creativity from individuals in a
group setting. It includes a productive discussion method and a strategic
planning process that can be used in a wide variety of settings. This one or
two day course is intended for individuals in leadership positions.
7) Workplace Mediation Training- This comprehensive three day
course provides participants with a comprehensive training in the use of
mediation as it may be applied to the workplace. Upon completion will be
able to assist individuals in resolving a variety of employment related
matters including EEO complaints and other disputes that arise in the
workplace.
8) Civil-Commercial Mediation Training - The three day course
provides necessary skills for successful mediation with emphasis upon
personal injury litigation, commercial issues, and business partnerships.
The course combines lectures, case studies, and role-play.
9) Family and Divorce Mediation Training- The financial, legal,
social, psychological and procedural dynamics of divorce mediation are
explained and then experienced in mock mediations. This course includes an
examination of Oklahoma Family Law and its impact upon the mediation of
domestic matters such as custody, property division and child support.
